Mary Rousseaux's work seems so perfectly timed in relation to the environmental disasters that keep surfacing.  She intentionally injects the canvas with compounds that do not belong together, creating a beautiful reaction of juxtaposing color and texture.  When hearing the newscast announce that the fish from the Gulf is safe to eat,  I envision their tissue resembling that of Rousseaux's work depicted above.
