The odd coupling of Frank Synowicz and Wendy Ross's work make for an interesting comparison of artistic energy. Visually, the work shares the neurotic repetition one would expect from an insomniac. Synowicz works fast and spontaneous with acrylics, diving back in to create the illusion of depth with repetitive brush strokes. Ross puts forth a delightfully domesticated approach, utilizing hand stitching techniques on canvas. The canvas forms are then artfully styled with a hot iron and manicurist wax.
