A perfect replica of a famous artist's boyhood home was spotted in mid- delivery to one of our favorite Detroit museums (since there isn't that many, I'm sure you've got a good idea where it'll be found). Supposedly, the artist tried to purchase the actual, Michigan residence. When the current owner refused, plan b (shown above) emerged.

1000 year old party people
H.O.R. gives you a little backstage preview to the performance of the year, 1000 Year Old Party People, designed from head to toe by Detroit's official party originators, Amanda Gordon and Levon Millross.
Saturday, July 19th, 9pm at the Northern Lights Lounge............Multiple personality tranny, C.C. Rose, will help you peel through the trashglam, synthetic skin of it all with her articulately curated electronic synths. Then you'll get chewed up and spit out by the glitter encrusted tribe. Are you ready to become one of us, or shall we feed you to the queen. I guess you'll have to see it to believe it.

Erratic Tendencies
The odd coupling of Frank Synowicz and Wendy Ross's work make for an interesting comparison of artistic energy. Visually, the work shares the neurotic repetition one would expect from an insomniac. Synowicz works fast and spontaneous with acrylics, diving back in to create the illusion of depth with repetitive brush strokes. Ross puts forth a delightfully domesticated approach, utilizing hand stitching techniques on canvas. The canvas forms are then artfully styled with a hot iron and manicurist wax.
Join us for the artists' reception on Thursday, June 16th at 7pm. A complimentary feature film selected by the artists will run at 8pm.
