Dream a Little Dream

House of Raw's Dream Weavers were orignally commissioned for the Wound menswear show, last December at the Detroit Institute of Arts.  Made of twigs, hemp twine and sausage casing, these sculptures were collaboratively created by Nate Czarling, Ronit Pinto and Cristin Richard.  Currently, you can catch a glimpse of them in the windows of our favorite boutique, House of Chants(http://www.houseofchants.com/).

Saturday night, I dropped in at House of Chants (www.houseofchants.com) for the Eugenia Paul Trunk Show.   The dressing rooms were hustle bustle.  I had to try on something myself, after witnessing each garnment fit like a glove on every woman who tried one on.  The interesting choices of color and materials pulls you in, however it's the perfect fit that seals the deal.  This husband and wife duo make beautiful music in the form of ready to wear.   You can find some items online at their etsy shop, http://www.etsy.com/shop/eugeniapaul, however you may find more of a selection at House of Chants.

I purchased an indigo lace top, which I sported later that evening.  You know it's a good piece when your boyfriend doesn't take note that you bought something new, yet compliments your look all night long.

Thank you Eugenia and Paul! It was a pleasure meeting you both.  Can't wait to see more of your impeccable work.

CLOSET RAID: Little Miss BlackWORDS BY RONIT PINTO
Nearly 15 years ago Sarah Black started a printing and design company in downtown Detroit.  Opening its doors in 1997, she and business partner Jason Hulce have since turned Klever Design and Printing into one of the most successful companies of its kind in the city.  Servicing clients from the high-end to the underground, including good chunk of Detroit’s music scene, they have built their reputation of providing "premium quality work at competitive prices, while providing exceptional levels of personal service,” she described.  Some who rely on Klever’s innovative graphics and high-quality printing include the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (Mocad); Paxahau, the producers of ‘Movement’ (Detroit’s annual electronic music formerly known as DEMF); and LiveNation.
A self-taught graphic designer and entrepreneur, Sarah also has a passion for fashion. Known for her individual style, a chic mix of modern and vintage, we captured her in her downtown loft in her wardrobe.
To many in the city Sarah is an inspiration, with doe-like beauty and business savvy brains. To us she is an ingĂ©nue, an intrigue, a muse.
